I read somewhere how important it is to surround yourself with the right people. If you have dreams of running a marathon, you wouldn’t be doing yourself any favours by hanging out with a group of people who want to just sit and chill. Nothing wrong with sitting and chilling but ultimately, you become influenced by those people.
Same goes for all things creative. I’ve been chippin’ away at this collection for a long time and bringing the vision to life has been the hardest part. There was a lot of ideas surrounding how DOY would be presented but the end result was a raw, stripped back approach to a traditional shoot. Through the world of social media I was lucky enough to find a like minded individual who understood the vision. Tate (@txwhi) is an up and coming Perth based photographer/artist who amongst other things, helped largely in capturing the feel of this collection and the ONNIFER aesthetic. He has his own unique style and is very knowledgeable in what he does. You can view more of his work here.
We actually shot the look book twice with 2 different models which brings me to the next person who made the shoot possible - Hassan (@nassahx1). Hassan stood in to model and was a vital part of the shoot, essentially becoming the face of DOY. With his own dreams of working in wildlife, he has a unique look that complimented the shoot perfectly.
The end result was over 450 photos - it was hard narrowing them down.
